As the sun shines through the windows and the refreshing breeze hits your face, its hard to keep going with schoolwork when summer is at our fingertips, but i just want to encourage everyone to KEEP GOING! WE CAN DO IT! (im also saying this so that i can hear it myself). right now, i am just working on my stone, its supposed to be done tomorrow for our junior show. its from 5-8, i believe in Gallery 1 (thats by the cantina in Hamilton) you should come!

just thought i would show some pics of the stone and its progress, this is basically where i live right now. By the way, inside fact (that has been my outfit for the past week, yeah art school!) : ) ENJOY!!!

Tomorrow, Inauguration day!

Things have been crazy, i apologize for not writing in a while. However, the big exciting day is tomorrow. Sean T Buffington, our new president’s, inauguration.
I was apart of this three day workshop creating GIANT PUPPETS. It was crazy and so much fun. We worked with Spiral Q, an awesome non-profit organization that basically creates puppets and do parades. A group of us got together over the past three saturdays in north philly (their studio is on 31st and Springarden) from 10:00am-6:00pm to create these puppets. It is going to be an interesting show. There will be:
1 Sixteen foot GIANT (takes 6 people to manage and animate)
5 Trees, that are alive (they remind me of the Ents in LOTR, but thats just me)
and many surprises for the audience, which is a secret…
Heres a little sneak peek at whats in store for Friday’s parade from Spiral Q’s Studio (Keep in mind, we were working):

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE, I will be the Giant’s right arm.

“Hello spring break, nice to see you again!”

Well, my trip to Florida was sure timed well, 3 days back and it was spring break! Perfect for making up MID-TERMS, finishing lots of papers, and readings.

Its been great actually taking many liberal arts classes this semester, yes its a lot of reading, but when you are already doing alot of reading and writing…whats a little more? its not very noticeable after awhile.

My stone is coming along, slow but steady. the more i work, the more i wonder about Michelangelo’s amount of carvings he did, Im sure he had 45 hands! (plus alot of stone pebbles everywhere! i found some in my ear today when i got home, my shoes empty enough stones to build a house!) its funny, when i get home i leave a trail of stone dust wherever i go. i love it though, im so glad i feel like i have found a new niche to explore! As an artist its so fun when that happens, its like you are exploring new territory, a new island to explore.
